Da oggi fino a fine settembre l’Abbazia di Mirasole ospiterà l’esposizione didattica “A che tante facelle? La Via Lattea tra scienza, storia e arte”, promossa dal Meeting per l’Amicizia fra i Popoli e curata dall’Associazione Euresis e, in particolare, da Marco Bersanelli, Mario Gargantini, Davide Maio, Nicola Sabadini ed Elio Sindoni.
Si tratta di un percorso didattico che, tra scienza, storia e arte, illustra lo spettacolo della Via Lattea che ha riempito di meraviglia tutte le generazioni umane, dalle preistoria fino ai giorni nostri. Le civiltà antiche di ogni parte del mondo, dagli Egizi ai Cinesi, dagli Aborigeni agli Incas, hanno costruito miti e leggende intorno a quella ineffabile nube celeste. E lungo la storia della nostra Europa numerosi poeti e pittori si sono ispirati alla sua luce argentata. La scienza moderna ha svelato la natura fisica della Via Lattea, riconoscendo in essa il bagliore diffuso della Galassia nella quale siamo immersi: una struttura a spirale che contiene centinaia di miliardi di stelle, così vasta che un raggio di luce impiega mille secoli ad attraversarla.
Il percorso contribuisce ad approfondire ulteriormente lo spazio espositivo “Dalla Terra al Cielo” (curato da AstroMirasole) e fa da splendida cornice ai numerosi eventi che si svolgono nella sala stalla, dove l’esposizione è allestita.
